Skincare Recipes for Men

There’s no reason that men can’t use any of my other recipes. However, I happen to love floral scents (I’m not saying men can’t love floral scents) and pretty colors and sometimes I make very specific products. I have a ton of bottles of various things in my bathroom. So, these recipes are for men who, like my teenager, want simple, effective, and inexpensive skincare. Feel free to make them with or without essential oils.

Men’s Face Wash Recipe

Here’s a simple recipe for a men’s face wash using natural ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup liquid castile soap
  • 1/4 cup brewed green tea (cooled)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon almond oil or jojoba oil
  • 5-10 drops of tea tree essential oil
  • 5-10 drops of cedarwood essential oil
  • 5-10 drops of bergamot essential oil

Instructions:

  1. Brew a cup of green tea and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the liquid castile soap, brewed green tea, honey, and almond oil or jojoba oil.
  3. Add the tea tree, cedarwood, and bergamot essential oils to the mixture. Adjust the amount based on your preference for scent strength.
  4. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Transfer the face wash to a pump bottle or squeeze bottle for easy use.
  6. To use, apply a small amount of the face wash to wet skin, lather, and then rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid contact with eyes.

This face wash combines the cleansing properties of castile soap with the soothing and antibacterial properties of green tea, honey, and essential oils. Tea tree oil is known for its acne-fighting properties, while cedarwood and bergamot essential oils add a masculine scent. Adjust the essential oil quantities to suit your preference.

Facial Toner Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup witch hazel
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup distilled water
  • 5-10 drops of cedarwood essential oil
  • 5-10 drops of sandalwood essential oil
  • 5-10 drops of bergamot essential oil

Instructions:

  1. In a glass bottle, combine witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, and distilled water.
  2. Add the essential oils to the mixture. Adjust the amount based on your preference for scent strength.
  3. Close the bottle and shake well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Store the toner in a cool, dark place.
  5. To use, apply the toner to a cotton pad and gently swipe it over your face after cleansing. Avoid the eye area.

This toner can help balance the skin’s pH, tighten pores, and provide a refreshing feel. The cedarwood, sandalwood, and bergamot essential oils give it a masculine scent while offering additional benefits for the skin. Adjust the essential oil quantities to suit your preference.
